Pharmacy Savings Plus is rolled out by Kmart

Kmart has introduced Pharmacy Savings Plus, a program designed to help shoppers who are uninsured or underinsured as well as those who pay cash for some or all of their prescriptions to save on medications and other pharmacy products and services. The company, a subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Kmart has introduced Pharmacy Savings Plus, a program designed to help shoppers who are uninsured or underinsured as well as those who pay cash for some or all of their prescriptions to save on medications and other pharmacy products and services.

The company, a subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp., says that by enrolling in Kmart Pharmacy Savings Plus, shoppers can save hundreds of dollars a year on prescriptions with discounts on prescription medications in addition to other health-related savings year-round.

“We are pleased to introduce the new Pharmacy Savings Plus program as another example of how Kmart Pharmacy is focused on the overall health and well-being of our Kmart shoppers,” says Phil Keough, president of Kmart Pharmacy. “We are committed to offering discounted prescriptions and other health-related benefits to make it more cost effective to be healthy.”

To join Pharmacy Savings Plus and start saving, shoppers can visit any Kmart Pharmacy and choose to enroll in one of two membership plans: the individual membership for $10 per year or a household membership for $15 per year.

Program features include medication savings on 10 of the most commonly prescribed drugs, including amlodipine besylate 2.5 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg (30 count); amoxicillin 125 mg/5 ml (150 ml), 200 mg/5 ml (100 ml) or 250 mg/5 ml suspension (150 ml); fluoxetine HCl 10 mg, 20 mg or 40 mg (30 count); fluticasone propionate 50 mcg spray (one bottle); ibuprofen 400 mg, 600 mg or 800 mg (60 count); hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg (30 count); lisinopril 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg or 20 mg (30 count); meloxicam 7.5 mg or 15 mg (30 count); metformin HCl 500 mg, 850 mg or 1,000 mg (60 count); and simvastatin 10 mg, 20 mg or 40 mg (30 count)..

The program includes free flavoring for certain liquid medications; 25% off immunizations; 10% off pet medications (as prescribed by veterinarian); and various healthy savings offers each quarter (beginning in April.)

For additional savings the program can be used in conjunction with the retailer’s Shop Your Way (SYW) Pharmacy Rewards Program. For every five prescriptions filled, shoppers can get $10 in SYW points to use on qualifying purchases in-store or online.
