The Pharmasave national cooperative has more than 550 stores.

New Pharmasave stores are opening in East York and Lakeshore in Toronto, and two locations are opening in Mississauga by mid-March. Other new stores are upcoming for Vaughan, Sault Ste. Marie and Ingleside.

“We purchased our first Pharmasave location in Barrie in 2000. Since then we have been continually impressed with Pharmasave’s focus on bringing patient care and quality services and products to our communities. We now have seven Pharmasave locations across Ontario,” Pharmasave pharmacy owner Roger Daher said in a statement.

“We are very proud of our dedicated team of health care professionals, committed to exceeding customer expectations every day. We’re looking forward to welcoming our friends and neighbors to our newest locations in Mississauga, Dundas Street and Erin Creek in March,” he added.

Ingleside Pharmacy is due to convert to the Pharmasave banner in April, the company said. Along with its pharmacy, health and wellness services and programs, Ingleside Pharmacy offers more than 700 Pharmasave store-brand products.

“We are focused on providing unique services like a certified diabetes educator to improve access to critical health care needs,” Ingleside Pharmacy owner Bryan Haley stated. “We pride ourselves on bringing quality care and services, and Pharmasave offers this at its core.”

Pharmasave Ontario, launched with 17 stores in 1997, called 2015 “one of its most successful years ever” and said it’s on pace to reach 275 stores in 2016. Led by chief executive officer Doug Sherman, the company opened its 250th store last year and now has 265 locations.

Executives at Pharmasave, which now has more than 550 stores in nine provinces, have attributed the cooperative’s growth to its community-centric focus, personalized service, strong marketing and business support, and ability to attract top-notch pharmacist-owners. Its pharmacy and health products and services include medication consultations, flu shots, travel health, diabetes, disease management for chronic conditions, and home health care.
