PLMA’s 2023 Executive Education Program is open for enrollment

NEW YORK — Amid record store brand sales growth, the time is right for the industry to double down on ways to ensure that the stellar performance continues.  PLMA’s 2023 Executive Education Program will provide attendees with the tools to help make that happen.

Registration is now open for this year’s session, June 20-21 at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

“We have developed a comprehensive education program led by an outstanding faculty of university professors and practicing professionals from the retailing and store brands industry,” noted PLMA president Peggy Davies.

Classes cover many new topics, including Achieving Supply Chain Efficiency for Store Brands; AI & Businesses: Great Potential and Great Challenges; Consumer Retail Psychology; and Transforming Your Organization’s Value Proposition. Other classes will include The Retail Landscape and Product & Packaging Innovation.

The curriculum will also include new breakout sessions on timely subjects: Doing Business in an Inflationary Environment; Private Brand Strategies; Challenges & Solutions; and Applying New Perspectives: Consumer-Centric Product Innovation.

What’s more, PLMA will host store tours of Wegmans, Amazon Fresh, Target and Aldi.

Now in its 22nd year, and with some 1,500 graduates, this unique program meets the need for continuing education, and professional development among individuals working at all management levels of retailing, manufacturing and allied fields in today’s store brands industry. Previous attendees have included Wakefern, Target, Circle K, Topco, Love’s Travel Stops, Tops Friendly Markets and Giant Eagle.

Attendees can stay at the Hilton Philadelphia, located just a few blocks from campus. PLMA will operate shuttle bus service from the hotel to the campus. Prior to the start of classes each day, continental breakfast will be held at Mandeville Hall on the Saint Joseph’s campus. Lunch and snacks will be available during scheduled breaks.

The impressive speaker list includes faculty from Saint Joseph’s University: Dr. Stephen Porth, Professor of Management; Ginny Miori, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of the Decision and System Sciences Department; Marcello Balduccini, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Decision Systems; George Latella, Food Marketing Professor; and Keith M. Donnell, Adjunct Professor. Other presenters are Christopher Gardier, Chief Sales Officer, Oratium; Jim Hertel, Founder and Principal, 2nd Act Advisory LLC; Jen Linke, Vice President, Retail, Aramark; Jac Ross, VP, Our Brands, Sprouts Farmers Market; and Sara Williamson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, SUNY College at Old Westbury.
