LAS VEGAS — H-E-B senior director of privacy, pharmacy and governmental affairs Dennis Wiesner was given the Harold W. Pratt Award at this year’s Total Store Expo.
Viewed as the National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ highest honor, the Pratt Award has been given out every year since 1985 to an industry veteran whose activities have contributed to the promotion, recognition and improvement of the practice of pharmacy.
“Dennis Wiesner epitomizes what the Harold W. Pratt Award represents — a pharmacy advocate who works persistently to advance pharmacy both within his company and on behalf of the industry,” NACDS chairman Bob Narveson said during the presentation ceremony. “He is a professional, compassionate champion of pharmacy and we are honored to bestow this award upon him and thank him for his outstanding service.”
Wiesner has spent 26 years with H-E-B, holding a variety of pharmacy-related posts. He has also been active in the industry, serving as a past chair and current member of the NACDS Policy Council, a past president of the Texas Federation of Drug Stores, a former trustee of the Texas Pharmacy Foundation and a representative to the Texas Pharmacy Congress.
Over the years, H-E-B has been raising its image as a provider of front-line pharmacy and health care services, offering free health screenings and providing a comprehensive approach to wellness that ties together pharmacy and food choices.
