IRVINGTON, N.Y. — Timothy Connors has been appointed chief marketing officer at Prestige Brands Holdings Inc.

Prestige said Monday that Connors joins the company from Matrixx Initiatives, a Phoenix-based consumer products marketer of over-the-counter products, where he was vice president of marketing and, before that, director of sales and marketing.

"I am thrilled to join Prestige Brands during this exciting time and look forward to bringing innovation, energy and creative marketing to the company’s brand names," Connors said in a statement. "I look forward to working with the team and know we are ready for the challenge to take our brands to the next level with retailers and consumers."

Prestige noted that Connors brings a strong background in marketing and sales for larger consumer products companies, such as Nestle, Clorox and Reckitt Benckiser, as well as in key leadership positions at smaller organizations such as The Emerson Group and Matrixx.

"We are excited to have Tim leading our marketing organization at Prestige," commented Matthew Mannelly, president and chief executive officer at Prestige. "He brings a terrific combination of consumer and customer focus to our team. His marketing expertise, strategic thinking and entrepreneurial spirit will serve our iconic brands well as we continue to build our brands in the marketplace."

Prestige markets and distributes brand-name OTC health care, personal care and household products. Its key brands include Compound W wart treatments, Chloraseptic sore throat and allergy treatments, New Skin liquid bandage, Clear Eyes and Murine eye and ear care products, Little Remedies pediatric health care products, The Doctor’s NightGuard dental protector and Cutex nail polish remover, as well as Comet and Spic and Span household cleaners.
