Publix appoints Doug Stalbaum vice president of finance

LAKELAND, Fla.—Publix Super Markets announced today that Doug Stalbaum will become vice president of finance on January 1, 2025. The announcement was made by CEO Kevin Murphy, who highlighted Stalbaum’s extensive experience and contributions to the company since joining in 2019.

Stalbaum, 45, began his Publix career as director of business analysis and reporting before being promoted to vice president and controller in 2022. In his current role, Stalbaum oversees financial reporting, technology and pharmacy support, retail business unit financial operations, and store-related accounting functions. His expanded responsibilities in the new position will include managing financial support for the company’s manufacturing and distribution sectors.

Before joining Publix, Stalbaum built a career in finance with roles that included senior audit manager at an accounting firm for eight years, senior director and controller at a restaurant chain for six years, and director of finance at a furniture retailer for three years.
