PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — Quest Products Inc. has launched CopperFixx, a pain relief cream and patch using copper as its primary active ingredient.
Quest said Monday that CopperFixx — described as the nation’s first copper-based analgesic cream and patch for consumers — is being rolled out to more than 7,200 Walgreens drug stores this month.
CopperFixx provides a more efficient delivery method of copper-based pain relief because, unlike copper bracelets or compression sleeves, the product is applied directly to the site of the pain, according to Quest.
A homeopathic product, with arnica added as a natural heating element to provide warmth and comfort, CopperFixx helps alleviate aches and pains, rebuild connective tissue and increase blood circulation, as well as reduce swelling and inflammation.
For active lifestyle customers seeking pain relief, copper-based products have been strong performers in retail and pharmacy locations, Quest noted, adding that it’s expanding the copper category by adding product extensions not available previously.
“We think that CopperFixx will revolutionize the topical analgesic category,” stated Mark McGreevy, executive vice president of business development at Quest. “We’re launching CopperFixx at Walgreens, working with other retailers and creating a new category of pain relief treatment.”
Copper’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties have been used for centuries as an aid in relieving pain, easing joint stiffness and providing increased energy and overall well-being, according to Quest.
“Copper has always been known to help relieve the aches and pains of certain afflictions as well as everyday activities,” commented Don Ryan, president and chief executive officer of Quest. “Until now, no one had figured out how to produce it in a highly concentrated and consumer-friendly form.”
