DETROIT — All Rite Aid stores in Michigan are closing, the pharmacy chain confirmed Tuesday according to an article in The Detroit News.
The latest list of store closures in Michigan submitted in bankruptcy court in recent days marks the pharmacy's complete exit from the state as it continues with bankruptcy court proceedings.
The article said that a Rite Aid representative said in an email Tuesday afternoon that the pharmacy chain, which had 186 stores in Michigan two months ago, has submitted all of them for closure.
The chain most recently listed 38 Michigan stores to close in three filings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey since Aug. 2. This is in addition to 123 store closures listed in filings since mid-June. The chain posted a roster of initial store closings in the fall.
