LAS VEGAS — Rite Aid Corp. was recognized for e-commerce growth at the 2016 Imagine Excellence Awards, held by digital commerce provider Magento Inc.

Magento said Rite Aid received the Growth Award for “extraordinary year-over-year growth across all channels,” powered by the Magento Commerce open-source, omnichannel e-commerce platform.

During the 2015 holiday season, Rite Aid saw triple-digit growth in transactions and revenue, according to Magento.

That growth, the e-commerce company said, was facilitated by Magento’s open architecture, which enables rapid development cycles and iteration plus site performance enhancements through enterprise features, such as full-page caching and sophisticated marketing tools.

Magento announced this year’s Excellence Award honorees on Wednesday at its Imagine 2016 conference in Las Vegas.

Mark Lavelle, chief executive officer of Magento, presented Growth Awards to Dean Bowerman, vice president of e-commerce at Rite Aid, and Jon Klonsky, owner of digital commerce specialist Something Digital, a technology partner for Rite Aid’s e-commerce site.

New York-based Something Digital offers website development, e-commerce, mobile app development, digital marketing, branding and hosting services.

In winning the award, Rite Aid also received congratulations from EasyAsk Technologies Inc., which said the drug chain is one of its customers.

EasyAsk is a provider of site search, navigation and merchandising solutions for e-commerce. The company said retailers have seen higher revenue per search, better conversion and improved average order value (AOV) by integrating its site search technology into their digital commerce platform.
