TORONTO — RxHelp.ca is offering a new discount card called Merck MyChoice to help Canadians save and stay on commonly used Merck branded prescription medications.
The company said Monday that the Merck MyChoice card covers up to the cost difference between 14 Merck brand-name prescription drugs and their generic versions at the pharmacy counter.
RxHelp noted that without the use of a card like Merck MyChoice, Canadians may have their prescriptions filled with a generic version of the branded medicine that was originally prescribed by their doctor. But now patients with prescriptions for Andriol, Cosopt, Elocom, Maxalt, Maxalt RPD, Marvelon, Nasonex, Propecia, Proscar, Sinemet, Sinemet CR, Singulair, Timoptic XE and Trusopt are eligible to use the Merck MyChoice card.
The drug savings card program also makes it easier for pharmacists and doctors because they only need to use or hand out one card for the participating Merck brands, RxHelp added. The Merck MyChoice card and other RxHelp Patient Choice cards can be used at any Canadian pharmacy.
