NEW YORK — Acadia Pharmaceuticals has rolled out the More to Parkinson’s campaign starring Ryan Reynolds. The More to Parkinson’s campaign aims to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of Parkinson’s-related hallucinations and/or delusions—a significant issue which may affect ~50% of people living with Parkinson’s over the course of their disease.

Since its launch, the campaign has worked to elevate understanding of these often-overlooked non-motor symptoms, encourage more open dialogue between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, and provide educational resources to better support the Parkinson’s community.

As part of this year’s efforts, the campaign continues to expand through new content featuring Ryan Reynolds and national visibility through a “Sunday Sitdown Live” interview with Willie Geist on TODAY, which aired last month.

"When my dad developed Parkinson's-related hallucinations and delusions, and he began seeing things that weren't there and believing things that weren't true, it was incredibly hard on him and our family," said Reynolds. "At the time, we didn't really know how to help him. Hallucinations and delusions are part of the untold story of Parkinson's, even though about half the people who develop the disease may experience them at some point over the course of their disease. And that's why I tell people if my family's experience sounds familiar, then don't wait, just talk to your doctor about it,” he added.
