GUILFORD, Conn. — Mitchell-Vance Laboratories has landed retail distribution for its ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets with food and drug retail giant Kroger Co.
The scar care company said plans call for the product to roll out to all Kroger and Kroger-owned stores nationwide on April 1. Previously sold in Kroger’s Fred Meyer stores in the Pacific Northwest, the Scaraway eight-count box will now be available across the retailer’s 1,800 locations.
ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets are formulated for the treatment and prevention of scars, including hypertrophic scars and keloids. Mitchell-Vance said the sheets use advanced patented silicone technology to shrink, flatten and fade scars, both old and new.
Once available only through hospitals, burn centers and plastic surgeons, this professional-grade silicone sheeting brings noninvasive, drug-free scar management to the home, according to the company.
"With the arrival of doctor-recommended ScarAway in Kroger stores, more consumers than ever will have access to convenient, easy-to-use, affordable at home scar management," commented Jessica Rowen, founder and president of Mitchell-Vance Laboratories. "That’s important, since hundreds of millions of scars are generated every year, affecting both adults and children."
ScarAway can be used on any skin tone, and a softening of the scar may be felt in just days, with visible results in just weeks. Optimal results are achieved in about 12 weeks, Mitchell-Vance said.
A box of eight sheets retails for $19.99. Each washable sheet is designed to last about a week. While showering or bathing, the sheet is removed and stored temporarily in a case that is included in each kit. Sheets may be cut in half for smaller scars or worn side by side for larger scars.
ScarAway scar treatment products are also carried at such supermarket retailers as Albertsons, Supervalu, Meijer and H-E-B as well as at drug chains including Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade and Kerr Drug.
