Scott’s Liquid Gold buys Prell, Denorex, Zincon brands

Scott’s Liquid Gold-Inc. has acquired of the Prell, Denorex and Zincon brands of hair and scalp care products from Ultimark Products Inc. Scott’s said Thursday that it purchased the three consumer brands for approximately $9.1 million, subject to adjustment.

DENVER — Scott’s Liquid Gold-Inc. has acquired of the Prell, Denorex and Zincon brands of hair and scalp care products from Ultimark Products Inc.

Scott’s said Thursday that it purchased the three consumer brands for approximately $9.1 million, subject to adjustment.

“We are excited about our acquisition of these brands. Prell, Denorex and Zincon products will be great additions to our existing health and beauty care portfolio of products,” stated Mark Goldstein, chairman, president and CEO of Scott’s Liquid Gold. “This investment represents an important strategic opportunity that will benefit our shareholders, consumers, customers, and employees.”

Skin care offerings from Denver-based Scott’s Liquid Gold include Alpha Skin Care products and Neoteric Diabetic healing cream. The company also is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Montagne Jeunesse/7th Heaven face masque and skin care sachets and, in the specialty retailer channel, the exclusive U.S. distributor of Batiste dry shampoo.

Scott’s Liquid Gold’s best-known product, Scott’s Liquid Gold wood cleaner and preservative, has been sold in the United States for more than 60 years.
