CHARLOTTETOWN, Prince Edward Island, Canada — Island Abbey Foods Ltd.’s Honibe Honey Lozenges have hit store shelves at Shoppers Drug Mart.

The company said Wednesday that under the deal, Honibe Honey Lozenges will be available in more than 900 Shoppers Drug Mart stores and showcased in the retailer’s cough/cold sets, including at Pharmaprix stores in Quebec.

Honibe Honey Lozenges contain 99.99% pure honey, with a small amount of naturally derived menthol and eucalyptus and no artificial ingredients. According to Island Abbey Foods, both flavors of the lozenges — Honey Lozenges with Menthol and Eucalyptus, and Honey Lozenges with Lemon, Menthol and Eucalyptus — will be featured in Shoppers Drug Mart locations.

Designed for the temporary relief of sore throat and nasal congestion, Honibe Honey Lozenges have only 10 calories per piece (2.6 g) and are available in blister packages of 10 lozenges. The lozenges also are conveniently sized for easy transport in pockets, cars, briefcases or purses.

"Being featured in Canada’s No. 1 line of pharmacies is an exciting accomplishment for our Honibe brand," commented John Rowe, president of Island Abbey Foods. "This partnership will allow our Honey Lozenges to be sold in over 900 Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Canada, with top-quality pharmacists educating their consumers on the healthy message our honey lozenge line provides."

Last month, Island Abbey Foods announced a rollout and sampling program for its Honibe Honey Drop and the Honibe Honey Lozenges at London Drugs stores in western Canada.
