Shoppers Drug Mart and its associate-owners have launched the 15th annual SHOPPERS LOVE YOU Growing Women’s Health campaign.

The Canadian drug chain said that over the next four weeks, its stores will accept donations from customers to help the company raise $3.3 million to help fund local women’s health charities.

For the campaign, Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Canada team up with local charities to provide direct support, resources and programming to meet the health needs of Canadian women. Each associate-owner picks a women’s health organization to benefit from the funds raised from their store.

The retailer is complementing the in-store program with an online Growing Women’s Health game, where customers can direct corporately-donated funds to the charity of their choice. Customers are encouraged to visit ShoppersLoveYou.ca and direct a portion of Shoppers Drug Mart’s $50,000 to their local charity for a chance to win Shoppers Optimum points just for participating.

In stores, customers can buy and personalize a “Growing Women’s Health” icon, a “leaf” for a loonie, a “butterfly” for $5, an “apple” for $10 and a “bird” for $50. The icons are displayed on the Growing Women’s Health Tree in all participating stores.

In the past year, the SHOPPERS LOVE YOU program has supported more than 500 charities, with 100% of customer donations remaining in their communities, according to Shoppers Drug Mart. Lisa Gibbs, director of community investment for the drug chain, said that over the past 14 years the company has donated nearly $30 million via the campaign.
