NEW YORK — Skinnygirl, the lifestyle brand created by television personality and entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel, is launching Skinnygirl Candy, a premium line of Belgian chocolates, gummies and mints.
The company, which unveiled SkinnyGirl Candy Tuesday afternoon at Dylan’s Candy Bar in Manhattan’s Union Square, noted that its new line of sweets uses all-natural ingredients and flavors and, with its treats offered in individual 100-calorie packs, allows consumers to indulge “for perfectly portioned enjoyment with just the right amount of excess.”
Skinnygirl Candy products, retailing for $4 to $5, include truffles (Dark Chocolate Almond, Milk Chocolate Cookie Crumble and Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Toffee), with each bag containing six 100-calorie packs; chocolate bars (Almond Nougat and Pistachio Caramel), with eight 100-calorie packs in each bag; almonds (milk- or dark chocolate-coated), with each bag containing eight 100-calorie packs; gummies (Elderberry/Sweet Lemon and Annabella Cherry/Mango varieties, containing 5% fruit juice and vitamin C), with six 100-calorie pouches in each bag; and mints (Pomegranate Green Tea, Mocha Cappuccino and Lemon Lime), which are sugar-free, sweetened with Stevia and have zero calories per serving.
“I’m always craving something sweet, and I never deprive myself when it comes to treats, ” Frankel, founder and chief executive officer of Skinnygirl, said in a statement. “I am obsessed with the new Skinnygirl Candy line. We selected the highest-quality ingredients and packaged them in portion controlled servings so you can indulge without the guilt.”
Plans call for Skinnygirl Candy to roll out nationally at Dylan’s Candy Bar locations and Kroger, Walgreens, Demoulas, Price Chopper, Roundy’s, Rouse’s Supermarkets and Hudson News airport stores, as well as online at Amazon.com.
Skinnygirl Candy is manufactured and distributed by Los Angeles-based Rivo USA, a sister company of Switzerland’s Sweetlife Ltd AG. Rivo USA specializes in premium candy and chocolates, with a focus on international licenses such as Disney and Sanrio.
“Skinnygirl Candy fills a void in the sweets industry, giving candy lovers a permissible and well-deserved indulgence,” stated Pieter De Haan, president of Rivo. “It’s not only portion-controlled to eliminate guilt but made using only the best, premium ingredients so you can feel good about satisfying any sweet craving.”
