SHELTON, Conn. — A promotion by women’s shaving prep brand Skintimate aims to give women a chance to go behind the scenes with New York designer Mara Hoffman and see what it takes to make it in the fashion industry.

The Energizer Personal Care brand said Thursday Skin that it has launched the second Skintimate Studios Ready for Everything design program online at skintimatestudios.com.

Through March 23, aspiring designers age 18 and older can visit the site to enter for a chance to win a two-week internship with Hoffman helping her team prepare for her 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim show. Contestants will upload a female dress design that conveys the theme "Ready for Everything" and answer two questions: Explain details of your design and why it represents the theme "Ready for Everything," and share what unique qualities you posses and bring to the fashion world. Designs and essays will be judged for versatility and original creative expression, the company said

Skintimate and Hoffman then will select 10 final designs, which will be announced online April 21. The finalists’ designs will premiere on the Skintimate Studios web site from April 21 through May 18, allowing site visitors to cast their vote for their favorite. The winning designer will be announced online May 25 and will be given the chance to spend two weeks with Hoffman and her team in New York and Miami as she debuts her line at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim show in Miami. The nine other finalists will receive a deluxe fashion prize pack filled with must-have items to help kick start their fashion careers, according to Skintimate.

"With the upcoming launch of the new designer cans by Mara Hoffman, we thought it would be a great idea to do our own search for tomorrow’s fashion designers," stated Joanna Di Domenico, brand manager for Skintimate. "Today’s young woman looks to Skintimate to give her the smooth confidence to be their best she can be. We are thrilled to discover fresh talent and offer them a once in a life time opportunity."

In addition to the internship search, fans 13 years of age and older can visit the Skintimate Studios site to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a Mara Hoffman scarf and a grand prize to go to Miami and attend Hoffman’s show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim show in July.

"I’m absolutely excited to be partnering with Skintimate both on the can designs and the Skintimate Studios program," commented Hoffman. "I think it’s amazing that Skintimate is doing this search to help young talented designed find their way into this industry."
