LOS ANGELES — Pharmacy wholesaler Smith Drug Co. has named FCTI as its preferred ATM service provider.

FCTI, an ATM network and service provider, said Tuesday that community pharmacies are a relatively underserved market in the ATM services sector and that by focusing on the needs of Smith Drug and its clients, it can optimize transaction volume while providing a positive end user experience across the distributor’s pharmacy customers nationwide.

"We’re excited to have FCTI as our preferred vendor. Here at Smith Drug Co., we seek to provide our members with the best vendors to deliver operational excellence, and FCTI is a great addition," Christa Hampton, marketing director of Smith Drug, said in a statement.

Smith Drug serves more than 1,000 pharmacies in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Washington DC, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Virgin Islands and Texas.

"The relationship with Smith Drug Co. allows us to further develop our growth in the pharmacy space while providing independent pharmacies the opportunity to drive additional revenue streams," commented Paul Cooley, president of FCTI. "This partnership is a mutually beneficial opportunity for growth. We’re dedicated to providing the best customer experience and value for all Smith Drug member customers."
