HAZELTON, Pa. — Troy Healthcare has signed former NFL quarterback Ron Jaworski as a national spokesman for its Stopain line of topical analgesics.

The company said Monday that Jaworski, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles and now serves as an ESPN football analyst, is a natural ambassador for the Stopain brand.

"Ron is one of the most popular and respected athletes in Philadelphia sports history," stated Thomas Cicini, president and chief executive officer of Troy Healthcare. "His unquestioned loyalty, 10-year career with the Eagles and longstanding dedication to giving back to the community make him the perfect fit for Stopain, and we’re thrilled that he joined the Stopain team as a spokesperson on a national level."

As a starting quarterback for the Eagles, Jaworski led the team to a 12-4 record and the franchise’s first Super Bowl in 1980, and that year he was honored with the 1980 NFL MVP award and selected to the Pro Bowl. After suffering a knee injury, he retired in 1990 but remained in the sports arena as an NFL analyst for ESPN.

"I am very captivated by the Stopain team. Their products are geared towards any age group or athlete," Jaworski commented. "I’ve tried many products to help with my arthritis pain as a result from years of playing football, but most only subside the pain. Stopain actually stops the pain; it’s terrific. Believe me, they are the real deal. I encourage everyone who has arthritis or joint pain to try it out for themselves. ‘Stopain’ is exactly what it does."

Stopain is designed to provide relief from arthritis, muscle aches and back pain. The topical pain reliever — available in spray, extra-strength spray, extra-strength roll-on and gel formulations — is sold at such U.S. pharmacy retailers as Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart and Meijer as well as at several major retailers in Canada.
