NEW YORK — Vichy Laboratoires said a study by the L’Oreal Institute for Ethnic Hair and Skin Research found that acne was the top problem and biggest skin concern cited by Caucasian, African-American, Hispanic and Asian women and that Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care effectively addresses acne-related skin conditions.

The beauty care maker said Tuesday that in the study of 300 women, 69% across all four ethnicities reported clearer skin with less acne imperfections after just four weeks of use of the product.

In addition to visibly clearer skin, Caucasian, African-American, Hispanic and Asian women who used Vichy Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care showed substantial reduction on all acne-related parameters, including tightened pores, an immediate matte effect, a more even complexion and a reduction in skin redness.

After eight weeks of using Vichy Normaderm Hydrating Care twice daily, 90% of African-American women experienced tightened pores, 96% of Caucasian women noticed an immediate matte effect, 86% of Asian women had a more even complexion and 81% of Hispanic women noticed a reduction in skin redness, according to the company.

Oil-free, lightweight and easily-absorbed, Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care replenishes skin with balanced moisture with Zincadone+, an oil-regulating and antibacterial ingredient consisting of renown salicylic acid, which encourages the stimulation of dead surface cells and clears acne blemishes and blackheads, and eperulin, a new organic ingredient that soothes and regulates inflammations, Vichy said.

The company added that its patent-pending Intra-Pore Technology with micro-exfoliating LHA (lipo-hydroxy-acid) also allows each ingredient to penetrate into the heart of the pore, to protect and purify the sebaceous glands, reducing imperfections and preventing future breakouts.

Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care, priced at $21 for 1.7-ounce size, is available at CVS/pharmacy, Longs Drugs, Duane Reade and Rite Aid drug stores.
