BROOMFIELD, Colo. (May 7, 2024) – Swisslog Healthcare, a global industry leader in pharmacy and transport automation solutions, has launched the ezCUT® Automated Tablet Cutter for the North American market in collaboration with JVM Manufacturing. To streamline pharmacy workflows and speed up processing, the ezCUT automatically, accurately cuts oral solid medications to fulfill half-strength prescriptions. This increases efficiencies in any pharmacy by cutting time and hassle.

With its unique design and dual functionality, ezCUT ensures dosing accuracy and removes hands on activity to additionally save time. Loaded without using canister calibration the ezCUT can efficiently cut a maximum of 20 tablets per minute and count 70 pills per minute. Most traditional medication management tools are manual and cannot guarantee accuracy which comes from automation as used with ezCUT. Precisely dividing tablets into halves for both round and oblong medications of varying sizes, the ezCUT automatically discards damaged or irregular tablets, ensuring the accuracy of every dose.

“Pharmacies use tablet cutting to minimize their inventory overhead and fill prescriptions that require half-strength doses. Leveraging automation for the tablet-cutting process saves time and energy and allows pharmacy staff to focus on more valuable tasks,” said Connie Vigil, Business Analyst at Swisslog Healthcare. “ezCUT virtually eliminates the hassle of manual pill cutting, which is often time-consuming and strenuous.”

The ezCUT Automated Tablet Cutter is available as compact yet robust stand-alone system or as a complement to the AutoPack™ Automated Oral Solid Packager or the PillPick® Automated Packaging and Dispensing System.  For more information about ezCUT®, click the link here: https://www.swisslog-healthcare.com/en-us/products/pharmacy-automation/ezcut-tablet-cutter
