SymphonyIRI appoints retail solutions president

SymphonyIRI Group Inc. has named Beverly Grant as president of retail solutions. The consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail and health care market research firm said Tuesday that Grant, who previously held various positions in a 26-year career at Procter & Gamble Co.

CHICAGO — SymphonyIRI Group Inc. has named Beverly Grant as president of retail solutions.

The consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail and health care market research firm said Tuesday that Grant, who previously held various positions in a 26-year career at Procter & Gamble Co.,  will report to Mark Parise, president of IRI.

"Collaboration between manufacturers and retailers is an essential need in order for our industry to truly advance, and SymphonyIRI has the right assets to boost these important conversations," Grant said in a statement. "I look forward to undertaking the task of enhancing and implementing SymphonyIRI’s broader U.S. retail strategy and am excited to be a part of the industry transformation that is about to take place."

AT P&G, Grant served in such roles as vice president, general manager and chief channel officer, North America Grocery Channel; and global business director of Beauty, Market Strategy and Planning, Food, Beverage and Pet Nutrition. Most recently, she led P&G’s $8.5 billion retail grocery business.

Prior to P&G, Grant gained experience in the food and beverage channel at Kroger Co., as well as in the health care, oral care and beauty categories.

Grant also is actively involved in industry trade associations, serving on the Food Marketing Institute’s advisory board and the Industry Affairs and Trading Partner Alliance committees for the Grocery Manufacturers Association, SymphonyIRI said. In those positions, she has been pivtoal in identifying and addressing issues of interest between retailers and manufacturers in the evolving food channel.

"Winning with retailers is about establishing SymphonyIRI as a differentiated strategic partner," Parise added. "Beverly’s extensive experience working with C-level retailer executives will be essential to enhancing our retail execution value proposition."
