HHS secretary visits Walgreens

Chains join insurers for new Medicare PDPs

Walgreen Co., CVS Caremark Corp. and Walmart are partnering with insurance companies on Medicare Part D prescription drug plans (PDPs). Walgreens and Walmart are partnering with Coventry Health Care Inc., while CVS has teamed with Aetna. Walmart also again has a plan with ­Humana.

Rosato named chief executive at AMCP

The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) has named former National Association of Chain Drug Stores executive Edith Rosato chief executive officer. She succeeds Judith Cahill, who earlier this year announced that she would be retiring after 16 years as top executive at AMCP.
