Walgreen Co. has promoted Jan Stern Reed to general counsel, a role that gives her responsibility for the company’s legal division. Reed succeeds Thomas Sabatino, who assumes the role of chief legal and administrative officer and will continue to serve as corporate secretary for Walgreens.

More insurers to offer coverage under ACA

The number of insurers offering health plans under the Affordable Care Act will increase by about 25%, the Obama administration reported. Seventy-seven new carriers will offer health insurance coverage for 2015 through federal and state exchanges, the government said last month.

Diplomat makes initial public offering

Diplomat Pharmacy has launched an initial public offering. Through the IPO, more than 13.3 million shares of the specialty pharmacy company’s common stock are for sale on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol DPLO. The price is expected to be between $14 and $16 per share.
