Prestige Brands CEO Mannelly to retire

Matthew Mannelly is retiring as president and chief executive officer of Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. and will be succeeded by chief financial officer Ron Lombardi. Prestige Brands said late Wednesday that Mannelly is slated to retire on June 1.

The board of directors of Perrigo Co. plc has unanimously rejected Mylan N.V.’s unsolicited bid to buy the company. Perrigo said late Tuesday that Mylan’s $205-per-share offer earlier this month, a deal estimated at about $29 billion, undervalues the company and its growth prospects.

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. has received the first Abbreviated New Drug Application approval from the Food and Drug Administration for cefixime for oral suspension, USP, 100 mg/5 ml and 200 mg/5 ml. Cefixime for O.S. is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to Suprax from Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc.
