Mylan, Watson cleared to market Boniva generic

Mylan Inc. and Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. have received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to launch a generic version of Roche’s Boniva osteoporosis medication. Mylan said Tuesday that its Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has begun shipping ibandronate sodium tablets 150 mg.

Teva ships generic of Lexapro

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. has begun the commercial launch of escitalopram oxalate tablets, an antidepressant medication. Teva said Wednesday that its product is a generic version of Forest Laboratories’ Lexapro Tablets.

Watson releases Prometrium generic

Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. has begun shipping an authorized generic version of Prometrium capsules. The company said Friday that its product, progesterone capsules in 100mg and 200mg dosages, were launched as part of an agreement with Abbott Laboratories.
