Spear takes helm as GMDC president

The Global Market Development Center (GMDC) has named veteran consumer packaged goods (CPG) executive Patrick Spear as president. Patrick Spear GMDC said Tuesday that Spear became president of the trade association effective Nov. 1.

General Mills wraps up Annie’s acquisition

General Mills Inc. has closed its acquisition of natural food company Annie’s Inc. General Mills said Tuesday that it completed its tender offer to buy Annie’s for $46 per share, or about $820 million. The deal was announced early last month.
