Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc. has launched Nexafed, a nasal decongestant with a technology that disrupts the conversion of pseudoephedrine into the dangerous drug methamphetamine. Nexafed uses Acura’s Impede technology, which disrupts the extraction and conversion of pseudoephedrine to methamphetamine.

Mylan Inc. has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration to market tolterodine tartrate tablets (1 mg and 2 mg), a bladder medication. The company said Thursday that the product, which is shipping immediately, is a generic version of Pharmacia and Upjohn’s Detrol tablets.
