Helen of Troy wraps up PUR acquisition

Helen of Troy Ltd. has closed its deal to acquire the PUR water purification product business from Procter & Gamble Co. The company said Tuesday that it projects PUR brand sales at about $110 million annually and that the acquisition will be immediately accretive to earnings.

Actavis releases generic Clobex products

Actavis Group has started shipping Clobetasol Propionate Shampoo and Clobetasol Propionate Lotion, indicated for the treatment of eczema and psoriasis. The company said Tuesday that the products are generic equivalents to Galderma’s Clobex Shampoo and Clobex Topical Lotion.

Amneal rolls out generic Felbamate suspension

Amneal Pharmaceuticals has launched what it said is the first generic Felbamate oral suspension in 600 mg/5 ml strength. Amneal said Wednesday that the first-to-market product is an AB-rated, therapeutically equivalent alternative to Meda Pharmaceuticals’ Felbatol.

Physicians Formula CFO to depart

Jeff Berry has resigned his position as chief financial officer at Physicians Formula Holdings Inc. The cosmetics and skin care product maker said Wednesday that Berry is leaving the company "to pursue other professional interests" and is slated to exit his post on Jan. 13.

Sebamed skin care to make U.S. debut at CVS

Germany-based Sebamed skin care products are slated to hit shelves at CVS/pharmacy next year. Physician Laboratories Inc., the U.S. distributor of Sebamed, said Tuesday that the products will be carried in 7,300 CVS stores starting in mid-January.

Mirixa names VP of sales

Stacey Lelko has joined pharmacy-based patient care service provider Mirixa Corp. as vice president of sales and business development. Mirixa said Tuesday that Lelko will lead its national sales team and develop strategic partner relationships.
