Target reveals plans for holiday deals

MINNEAPOLIS — Target plans to woo holiday shoppers with special deals, unique merchandise and an easy shopping experience, the retailer said Tuesday.

“This is a time the Target team shines, and we’re ready to deliver affordability, inspiration and convenience to help our guests celebrate holiday traditions with loved ones,” says Christina Hennington, chief growth officer, Target. “We’ll have great deals every day, on top of our everyday low prices. And between our only-at-Target exclusives, robust assortment of owned and national brands, new partnerships, and industry-leading fulfillment services, Target is making it easier than ever for our guests to embrace the joy of the season.”

Target said it will kick off the holiday shopping season with Target Circle Week, from October 1-7, which will offer deep discounts on thousands of items, including on-trend gifts, seasonal items and everyday essentials, with up to 40% off for Target Circle members.

Another savings opportunity for Target Circle members will be a “Deal of the Day” program that features special discounts with deep daily discounts, including on favorite brands like Apple, Nespresso, Dyson and Nintendo, from Oct. 1 through Dec. 24. Target said it aims to stand out this holiday season as a go-to destination for both savvy bargain hunters and seekers of unique, on-trend gifts. That includes offerings from the retailer’s in-house brands like Favorite Day, Hearth & Hand by Magnolia, and Figmint – a new brand dedicated to sustainably packaged, quality kitchen items.

To add a touch of glamour to its gift selection, Target has forged a long-term partnership with Kendra Scott, the fashion-meets-philanthropy lifestyle brand. This partnership debuts with an opulent collection of over 200 stylish jewelry and accessory pieces, available online and in select stores starting this October, with the majority of items priced under $40, ensuring numerous opportunities for shoppers to indulge themselves or their loved ones with exquisite items.

The company’s holiday product assortment will also include:

  • Over 10,000 new products, including stocking stuffers starting at $1.
  • Hundreds of new items across food and beverage starting at $2, including seasonal favorites like Favorite Day holiday bark and hot cocoa spoons. Half of our seasonal selection is priced at under $5.
  • Thousands of must-have gifts under $25, from toys to gift sets to seasonal favorites for the family, as well as a wide selection of beauty, apparel and accessories items starting at $5.

Target added that it will once again be partnering with the with iconic British retailer Marks & Spencer on an expanded assortment of exclusive gourmet foods and gifts, more than half of them available for less than $10. The retailer is also offering thousands of new products from such brands as Xbox and LEGO, and though its shop-in-shops partnerships with Apple, Disney and Ulta Beauty.

The retailer said it also intends to make the holiday shopping experience easy via same-day shopping services like Target Drive Up, Order Pickup and Same-Day Delivery. Target said its added more than 27,000 new Drive Up stalls, and the retailer has added a feature that lets customers use Drive Up to make a return while also placing a Starbucks order.

Target said its stores-as-hubs fulfillment strategy should result in faster delivery of purchases, while additional staffing at its stores during the holiday season should make in-store shopping more enjoyable for customers.
