NEWARK, N.J. — TeleManager Technologies Inc. has added a component to its iRefill Connect suite that allows drug store customers to perform pharmacy functions through the social media site Facebook.
The company said Tuesday that the latest component of the iRefill Connect pharmacy automation and communications suite is iRefill Facebook, which enables patients to refill their prescriptions via Facebook.
"Pharmacy patients desire more and more options and flexibility when communicating with their pharmacies," noted Paul Kobylevsky, vice president and chief operating officer of TeleManager Technologies. "The iRefill Connect Suite’s approach not only meets these patient demands, but also does so in a way that makes the solutions efficient, effective and affordable for pharmacies of all types and sizes.
TeleManager also has unveiled the latest release of iRefill Mobile, which it said delivers more than just the ability to refill prescriptions. With the new fully integrated iRefill Mobile App, pharmacies can give their patients the option to have two-way communication with their pharmacists and to have more control over their prescriptions using TeleManager’s medication adherence platform.
As with all iRefill Connect solutions, the iRefill Voice IVR and Outbound Messaging applications take advantage of its cloud-based technologies, which eliminate the need for pharmacy operators to install, support and maintain their own pharmacy automation and communication infrastructure, according to TeleManager. Such an approach also improves failover and redundancy capabilities, the company added.
"Now patients are in control of how they engage their pharmacy. They want their pharmacy to connect with them wherever they are," Kobylevsky explained. "Some will still prefer to call the pharmacy to order their refills, but others want to communicate with their pharmacy or to place refill orders on Facebook or pharmacy websites, or on the go via mobile applications or via cell phone text messaging. The iRefill Connect Suite’s ability to offer broad, two-way communication with patients is especially important in today’s highly competitive pharmacy market."
TeleManager said its pharmacy automation and communication solutions are used by thousands of independent, chain and institutional pharmacies.
