RHINEBECK, N.Y. — The Topricin natural pain relief brand is stepping into the foot care aisle at CVS/pharmacy.

Topical BioMedics Inc., the maker of the topical analgesic brand, said Wednesday that it has entered an agreement with CVS to carry Topricin Foot Therapy Cream in its over 7,400 drug stores.

Topricin Foot Therapy Cream has been specially formulated to address foot and ankle pain and injuries such as gout, heel spurs, bunions, as well as sports injuries such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis and shin splints.

Safe for diabetics, the foot cream also is patented for the topical treatment of pain related to neuropathy, according to the company.

"We are delighted that Topricin Foot Therapy Cream has been chosen by CVS for inclusion in its foot care section," stated Lou Paradise, Topical BioMedics president and chief of research. "It is estimated that more 20 million Americans suffer from neuropathy, and 60% of all diabetic patients experience neuropathy in their feet, which can be painfully debilitating and greatly impacts their quality of life.

"Because our formula is patented for the treatment of pain associated with neuropathy, it offers a safe, effective option for people suffering from both diabetic and chemo-induced neuropathy," Paradise added. "Having it on the shelves in CVS will certainly make our product more available to those in need."

Topricin formulas contain no parabens, petroleum or harsh chemicals; are odorless, greaseless and nonirritating; and produce no known side effects, Topical BioMedics said.

The product line also includes original Topricin Pain Relief and Healing Cream and Topricin for Children. The company said the natural formulas have been granted a patent for the topical treatment of pain associated with fibromyalgia and neuropathy.
