Walgreens names Patrick McLean senior VP and CMO

DEERFIELD, Ill.  – Walgreens announced Friday that Patrick McLean as senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO). In his role as CMO, McLean will be responsible for the vision, strategic direction and performance of all Walgreens marketing activities.

DEERFIELD, Ill.  – Walgreens announced Friday that Patrick McLean as senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO).

In his role as CMO, McLean will be responsible for the vision, strategic direction and performance of all Walgreens marketing activities. These responsibilities include: marketing collaboration, design and execution of the iconic Walgreens brand, development of the customer value proposition, customer targeting, marketplace brand positioning and execution of marketing plans.

McLean joins Walgreens from TD Bank, where he was most recently the executive vice president, chief marketing officer and head of crporate and public affairs. Under his leadership, McLean oversaw brand strategy, corporate and public affairs and integrated marketing efforts. McLean transformed the department into a “digital first” and data-driven organization, driving brand and acquisition marketing campaigns, public relations, social media, field and retail marketing, and customer experience programs. Prior to TD Bank, McLean was vice president, digital brand strategy and digital CMO at Capital One Financial Corporation, as well as the head of interactive marketing and e-commerce at Verizon.
