DEERFIELD, Ill. – Walgreens will keep all of its nearly 8,000 stores open during regular business hours on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, providing shoppers with access to last-minute holiday essentials and healthcare needs.
More than 4,000 Walgreens pharmacies also will be open, offering customers and patients convenient access to prescription medications, over-the-counter remedies and pharmacist support.
Thanksgiving celebrations do not always go as planned, whether it's a forgotten ingredient, a sudden illness, unexpected heartburn or the need for extra kitchen supplies just as guests arrive. By remaining open throughout the holiday, Walgreens aims to help customers address those unexpected moments and focus on spending time with family and friends.
For added convenience, customers can also shop eligible items through 1 Hour Delivery and 30 Minute Pickup where available, giving them more ways to tackle last-minute needs without missing the celebration. Delivery times and availability may vary by location.
“Walgreens is a place people turn to for everyday needs and those unexpected moments when they need a little help,” said Rick Gates, Chief Pharmacy and Enterprise External Affairs Officer, Walgreens. “Being open this Thanksgiving means we can be there when they need us, whether it’s for a prescription, an unexpected health need or a forgotten essential that helps save the holiday. I’m especially grateful to the thousands of Walgreens team members working this Thanksgiving to serve patients and customers in their communities.”
