BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Walmart is ramping up its fuel and convenience market presence, announcing plans to open or remodel more than 45 Walmart Fuel and Convenience stations across the United States this year. By year-end, the retail giant expects to have over 450 locations operating in 34 states, strengthening its commitment to providing low-cost convenience for customers.

The expansion builds on the momentum of the company’s opening of its 400th fuel station in Palm Springs, California, in December. Walmart Fuel and Convenience stations offer competitively priced fuel, snacks, and beverages at the same prices found inside Walmart stores. Walmart+ members can also save up to 10 cents per gallon on fuel at Walmart stations and Exxon, Mobil, and Murphy locations.

“We’re continuing to invest in our nationwide, physical store footprint. By adding dozens of fuel and convenience stations this year, we are bringing even more value to our customers,” Dave DeSerio, vice president of fuel and convenience for Walmart U.S., said in a press release sent to NACS. “Customers shop Walmart for our everyday low prices and convenience offerings, and fuel stations are another example of us responding to our customer and member needs.”

With fiscal year 2025 revenue of $681 billion and more than 10,750 stores and e-commerce sites across 19 countries, Walmart continues to grow its ecosystem. The company’s strategy to integrate fuel and convenience services reflects its broader effort to drive customer loyalty and provide value beyond the store aisles.
