RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s Crinone 8% progesterone gel is now included in New Life Agency Inc.’s Fertility Pharmacy Care Card program, which provides prescription drug discounts to fertility patients through Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy.

New Life Agency, a provider of fertility and maternity medical insurance, said Tuesday that through the Fertility Pharmacy Care Card (FPCC) program, participating patients can now get a $30 savings on every Crinone prescription.

A cash-only program, the FPCC provides infertile patients with significant discounts on fertility medications for fertility patients, their egg donor and, if applicable, their surrogate. Patients sign up for the program online and are charged a one-time $25 fee. The card gives them a $100 discount for each $1,000 purchase of stimulation medication through Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, in addition to the $30 Crinone coupon. Once enrolled, patients receive a $25 Walgreens gift card that can be used at any store location after the first medication order and delivery.

According to New Life Agency, the FPCC can help fill the gap in fertility medication coverage. "Our care card is an example of how our company continues to reach out to OB/GYNs, REs, fertility pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, nonprofit organizations and health insurers alike to join forces and bring affordability to the patient, together providing more people affordable access to infertility care," stated Trish Taylor, founder and president of New Life Agency.

A once-daily medication, Crinone 8% was the first Food and Drug Administration-approved natural form of progesterone for progesterone supplementation or replacement as part of assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatments for infertile women with progesterone deficiency, New Life Agency reported.

Enyde Polesuk, vice president of product development for fertility services at Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, commented about the FPCC program, "Our goal is to offer personalized fertility pharmacy services along with the best possible support for these very specialized pharmacy needs. We’re pleased to be a part of this first-of-its-kind cost solution and look forward to making our services more accessible than ever for hopeful parents-to-be."
