CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. is promoting its new Wellness Your Way platform, which encourages shoppers to adopt a more holistic approach to health, with a three-and-a-half-day music, education and wellness festival here in October.
“Kroger is excited to present the first Wellness Your Way Festival in America in our hometown,” said Colleen Lindholz, president of Kroger Health. “Our vision for Wellness Your Way is to provide customers with a destination for helpful information about nutrition, medication and lifestyle — everything they need to start living better and healthier every day.”
The festival was cofounded by Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Jewel, a practitioner of mindfulness who posts advice on her website on meditation and other techniques that might help fans find calm, build emotional fitness and create happiness in their lives. “I have always been astounded by how little education we receive to help us feel connected, happy and healthy. In a world of rising disconnection and anxiety, I am proud to help be part of the antidote by cofounding Wellness Your Way Festival,” Jewel said in a statement announcing the festival, set for October 4 to October 7 at the Duke Energy Convention Center.
In addition to listening to music by Jewel and others, festival-goers can visit a holistic health expo and tour interactive stations with new health and wellness technologies, including Kroger’s new OptUP app, introduced last month as a data-driven tool that helps customers be more informed about products. The app provides product ratings and a “gamified” dashboard to encourage shoppers to make better-for-you food decisions.
Kroger is co-hosting the event with Inclusion Cos., which focuses on driving clients’ strategic initiatives through consumer and marketing events.
