SHELTON, Conn. — Energizer Personal Care’s Wet Ones brand is supporting TeacherLists.com, a new free service that aims to help America’s classrooms stay fully stocked with supplies.

The wet wipes brand said Tuesday that according to the National School Supply and Equipment Association, each year teachers spend an average of $462 out of their own pockets to keep their classrooms stocked with key supplies and learning tools. With the help of TeacherLists.com, a website developed by School Family Media Inc. that offers the largest database available of current teacher wish lists and school supply lists, parents can help teachers by providing things classrooms need, ranging from Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes and paper towels to more traditional items like pencils and glue sticks.

Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes are a handy solution for kids to quickly wipe away messes and kill 99.99% of germs on hands when soap and water aren’t available, the company noted. Available in a 40-count canister, a 24-count box of individually wrapped singles and 15-count travel pack, Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes easily fit in the backpack, lunchbox and stock area in the classroom.

"The Wet Ones brand is proud to support TeacherLists.com, helping to make back-to-school shopping easier," stated Erik Rahner, Energizer Personal Care Group’s marketing director. "With Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes in the classroom, teachers are getting the supplies they need and parents are helping by keeping their kids as healthy as can be."

To use the site, teachers or school volunteers register and upload student and school supply lists, in addition to teacher "wish lists" that include items like Wet Ones wipes, tissues, paper towels and other cleaning supplies that help keep a classroom germ-free. TeacherLists.com is also available via social media, allowing teachers to quickly and easily post their supply requests to Facebook or their district websites.

The TeacherLists.com site has lists from more than 50,000 classrooms from all 50 states. Teachers and schools that get active with the site by posting their lists and sharing those lists with parents using the site’s sharing tools earn free bonus supplies from TeacherLists.com’s expanding sponsor list.

"Wet Ones Hand Wipes are a perfect brand for all of our school support efforts at TeacherLists.com," commented the site’s founder, Tim Sullivan. "Teachers and parents alike tell us that killing germs in the classroom is a huge priority and a huge challenge. Teachers need the help with the supplies through the entire school year. Parents are willing to help. And this partnership between Wet Ones Hand Wipes and TeacherLists.com makes that whole equation so much easier."

Wet Ones added that TeacherLists.com is also kicking off a number of rewards programs that will provide hundreds of thousands of dollars of free school products that will be distributed during the 2012-13 back-to-school season.
