EWING, N.J. — Church & Dwight Co. has introduced Arm & Hammer Tooth Tunes toothbrushes that play songs from the teen-sensation pop band One Direction.

The company said Thursday two new Arm & Hammer Tooth Tunes brushes will be available, each with a chart-topping single from One Direction: "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing."

Similar to the nine Tooth Tunes battery-powered toothbrushes launched last July 2012, each One Direction Tooth Tunes brush plays two minutes of music to encourage longer brushing and ensure that children meet dentists’ recommended brushing time.

The Tooth Tunes "Music in Your Mouth" technology streams sound vibrations from the bristles of the toothbrush through the teeth, enabling kids to hear music while they brush, Arm & Hammer said.

The patented technology delivers high-quality sound by broadcasting music into the jaw, which is then transmitted through the inner ear, allowing the person brushing their teeth to hear the music, according to the company.

"We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with One Direction and are sure that kids will not only enjoy brushing along with the pop phenomenon, but will have better brushing habits as a result," stated Tim Seitter, vice president of oral care marketing for Church & Dwight.

The Tooth Tunes One Direction toothbrushes carry a suggested retail price of $9.99 and will be available at mass, drug and food retailers nationwide starting this month.
