Take Care clinics now offer nebulizer treatments

Take Care Health Sytems, the retail health clinic subsidiary of Walgreen Co., has added nebulizer treatments for patients exhibiting acute respiratory distress. Nebulizer treatments will be available year-round to patients ages 2 and older at all Take Care clinics.

Bartell upgrades store base

Bartell Drugs began a series of three store openings this year with the July 20 opening of its 55th store at Lake Serene in Lynnwood, Wash. The 16,400-square-foot location will employ approximately 25 associates.

Duane Reade rounds out merchandising team

Duane Reade Inc. has bolstered its merchandising team in a flurry of personnel moves as it pushes ahead with major store-optimization and marketing initiatives. The drug chain has hired Paul Tiberio as senior director of category management.

More executive changes at Walgreens

Walgreen Co. has announced a number of executive promotions. Wade Miquelon has been promoted to the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer, while John Spina was named corporate vice president of retail integration and new format development.

Sussman will head MinuteClinic at CVS

CVS Caremark Corp. has named Dr. Andrew Sussman president and chief operating officer of its MinuteClinic business. In addition, he has been made CVS Caremark’s senior vice president and associate chief medical officer.

Rite Aid sees sales decline in June

Rite Aid Corp. said Thursday that same-store sales fell 0.6% in June, while total sales slipped 2.5% during the period. For the four weeks ended June 27, front-end same-store sales dropped 4.

RxImpact Day hits Washington
