SEATTLE – Dick’s Drive In Restaurant, Strideline and Bartell’s teamed to support the No Child Sleeps Outside campaign by Mary’s Place. For the project, Strideline created a limited-edition sock featuring local icon, Dick’s Drive-In. The idea of a quality, custom pair of socks from a local company, emblazoned with a local icon’s design being sold at Seattle’s own drug store, Bartell’s, proved to be a slam-dunk fundraiser for Mary’s Place. For every pair of socks sold, $1.00 is donated to the No Child Sleeps Outside program and two pairs of Strideline socks are donated to Mary’s Place. The socks are available at Bartell’s or online at www.ddir.com.
An exciting in-store event was held at the University Village Bartell Drugs this past Saturday with a showcase of the different styles of Strideline’s Dick’s Drive-In socks and the first 100 to visit the store received free Dick’s Burgers. The first 50 customers that purchased a pair of Dick’s Drive-In socks received an additional pair of exclusive Strideline Seattle Skyline Ugly Christmas Sweater socks.
Dick Spady, co-founder of Dick’s Drive-In, believed that if one invested in their community and helped their community thrive, that their business would thrive. That notion is exemplified in this project. Donations raised enable Mary’s Place to bring more than 1,000 moms, dads and kids inside from cars and tents this winter and get closer to the goal that No Child Sleeps Outside.
RoundUp for Charity and Change for Charity donations at all Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants in December support No Child Sleeps Outside.
