PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Camber Pharmaceuticals has launched two new generic drug products.
The company has released simvastatin tablets, a cholesterol-lowering medication, in strengths of 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg and 80 mg. The product comes in 90- and 1,000-count bottles for all dosages except 80 mg, which is available only in a 90-count bottle.
Camber said its product is a generic version of Zocor tablets from Merck and is used to reduced cholesterol triglycerides in the blood.
Also over the past week, Camber has introduced valganciclovir 450-mg tablets, an antiviral medication.
Available in a 60-count bottle, Camber’s product is a generic version of Valcyte tablets from Genentech/Roche. The drug is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the eye in patients with AIDS and to prevent CMV infection that may occur after an organ transplant (heart, kidney or pancreas).
