PARMA, Ohio — U.S. Rep. Max Miller of Ohio's seventh district toured Discount Drug Mart's store and pharmacy in this city south of Cleveland.

Miller spoke with pharmacist Jackson Gilbride and pharmacy supervisor Bill Martin.

He also met with Discount Drug Mart government and public affairs director Steve Ferris.

The discussions centered around PBM reform. Miller understands Discount Drug Mart's role as the largest employer in his district. He has twice visited the company's headquarters and distribution center in Medina.

Discount Drug Mart opened its first store in Elyria, Ohio in 1969. Since that time, the chain has established stores in over 20 Ohio counties, and currently operates 78 stores, including Dayton and Columbus.

Drug Mart’s pharmacies offer the latest customized computer system and electronic prescription transfer. Pharmacists also provide disease management and various testing and screening services. Their dedicated pharmacists fill over 5.3 million prescriptions a year.
