PLYMOUTH, Mass. — Cool Gear International has launched its new coolgearcan, designed to help keep beverages cold, in CVS/pharmacy stores nationwide.

The coolgearcan is available in more than 50 designs.

The housewares and hydration product maker said this week that the coolgearcan is a double-wall, insulated beverage container with a spill-poof sliding closure, designed for consumers with an active lifestyle.

Reusable and 100% BPA-free, the drink container can be filled with a beverage of choice and is designed to reduce the millions of tons of aluminum waste that end up in landfills yearly, according to Cool Gear. The wide mouth and twist-off top make it easy to fill with ice, and the container keeps drinks — whether water or fresh fruit smoothies — cold for up to six hours, the company said.

Coolgearcans come in a 16-ounce size and in more than 50 trendy designs, including peacock and owl styles. The product carries a suggested retail price of $5 to $7. Each container also has a Cantrition recipe to help consumers to create another drink to enjoy in their coolgearcan.

Plans call for the coolgearcan to become available at Walmart and Bed Bath & Beyond in July and online at coolgearinc.com starting in late summer.

"We successfully led the industry revolution of the on-the-go drink container with our Eco2Go Chillers, and we wanted to build on that innovation to bring the aluminum can into the 21st century," stated Donna Roth, president and chief executive officer of Cool Gear International. "The reusability and patented technology of our new coolgearcan supports our mission to inspire a healthier and happier lifestyle and allows consumers to ‘rethink their drink.’ "
