WASHINGTON — A federal court in Washington has ordered CVS Health and its pharmacy benefits manager CVS Caremark to comply with a demand from the Federal Trade Commission and produce documents related to an antitrust investigation, Seeking Alpha reported today.
As part of the order issued by U.S. District Judge John Bates on Monday, the health care giant is required to furnish documents created before the end of 2023 by Feb. 28 and turn over additional records, created in 2024 by the end of April.
The order relates to an FTC demand in 2023 for business record from CVS in relation to a federal investigation into the alleged anticompetitive conduct of the company’s pharmacy-related operations.
“I have long said that if firms do not cooperate with our investigations, we should take them to court,” wrote FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson on X, adding, “The law is clear: complying with our orders is mandatory.”
