HYDERABAD, India — Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. has launched bupropion HCl extended-release tablets, an antidepressant medication.
Dr. Reddy’s said its product, a generic version of Wellbutrin SR sustained-release tablets from GlaxoSmithKline, comes in strengths of 100 mg, 150 mg and 200 mg in 60-, 100- and 500-count bottles.
An antidepressant of the aminoketone drug class, bupropion HCl is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder.
Combined, the Wellbutrin SR brand and generic products generated U.S. sales of approximately $109.6 million for the 12 months ended in July, according to IMS Health data reported by Dr. Reddy’s.
