DAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Lil’ Drug Store Products Inc. has landed distribution for its Pre-Seed "fertility-friendly" lubricant at Walmart and expects more retail pharmacy distribution this summer.
The company said that besides at Walmart, Pre-Seed is also available at Walgreens, CVS, Target and independent pharmacies, bringing total U.S. distribution to more than 19,000 stores.
Plans call for more than 5,000 additional Rite Aid, Publix and Giant Eagle stores to carry Pre-Seed by July.
According to Lil’ Drug Store Products, Pre-Seed has a patented, isotonic formula that is pH-balanced to match fertile cervical mucus and the pH of sperm, and therefore does not harm sperm like other common lubricants. It is applied in the optimal location, near the cervix, using a comfortable applicator.
The company reported that on any given day, about 11 million American couples are trying to have a baby.
"The added stress of planning and timing can lead to decreased sexual desire, interest and satisfaction. Women are also more likely to experience vaginal pain and dryness because the whole process can become stressful and regimented, affecting a couple’s relationship during this time," stated Michael Krychman, M.D., executive director of the Southern California Center for Sexual Health and a sexual medicine gynecologist.
As a result, Lil’ Drug Store Products noted, choosing the right lubricant is key to any couple’s baby-making plans. The company said Nursing for Women’s Health reported that "for patients who wish to maintain optimal fertility, there is only one lubricant currently on the market [Pre-Seed] that has been shown not to interfere with conception."
Lil’ Drug Store Products’ roster of brands also includes RepHresh Vaginal Gel, RepHresh Pro-B, Replens Long-Lasting Vaginal Moisturizer and Wellgate, among others.
