The regional drug chain, with 27 stores in West Virginia and Ohio, said that as vice president, Weber will lead its pharmacy division. He previously served as director of pharmacy administration and procurement.
Fruth’s board of directors announced the appointment at its annual shareholders meeting.
"The board wanted to recognize Tim’s contributions to the Fruth company by offering him this promotion. We are pleased he accepted and look forward to his future accomplishments," Lynne Fruth, president and chairman of Fruth Pharmacy, said in a statement.
Weber has been at Fruth Pharmacy for three years. Before joining the company, he held pharmacy positions with Eckerd Drug Co. and Sears Holdings/Kmart Corp.
Fruth Pharmacy noted that Weber has helped implement key changes at the company.
"One of our best successes to date is our migration from legacy PDX to a workflow-oriented Enterprise Pharmacy System," Weber stated. "This system enables Fruth to optimize the filling process and gives our pharmacy teams more functionality within the daily workflow to better serve our patients. Fruth has been able to advance our clinical services to our patients, due to this improvement, by integrating medication therapy management into the pharmacy workflow. This provides the pharmacist with the information they need to impact patient outcomes."
Weber added that as Fruth continues to sharpen efficiencies in its prescription dispensing process, it will look to provide more clinical pharmacy services to improve patient health outcomes.
"Fruth has many opportunities to be a leader in how pharmacy is practiced in this market," he commented. "Our company size allows us to be nimble and change quicker than some of our larger competitors. We truly tailor our offerings to best match our patients’ needs."
