Futurist Peter Diamandis to keynote NACDS Total Store Expo 2025

Diamandis has launched the Ansari X PRIZE, sparking the private spaceflight industry, and founded over 25 companies in health tech, space, venture capital, and education.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) announced that Peter Diamandis, MD, founder and executive chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation, will headline the General Business Program at the NACDS Total Store Expo on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in San Diego.

Diamandis, recognized by Fortune as one of the “World’s 50 Greatest Leaders,” will share insights on exponential technologies and how they are reshaping health, wellness, and consumer goods. His presentation will explore how artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology are extending healthy lifespans, creating new opportunities for retailers and suppliers navigating rapid industry change.

“Dr. Diamandis brings the kind of forward-thinking vision that is essential as our industry faces rapid transformation and new opportunities,” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson. “His ability to translate emerging trends into actionable strategies will empower our members to lead innovation and growth.”

The program will also feature remarks from NACDS Board Chair and Walgreens SVP and Chief Pharmacy Officer Rick Gates, as well as NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson.

Diamandis’ entrepreneurial track record includes the launch of the Ansari X PRIZE, which sparked the private spaceflight industry, and the founding of more than 25 companies across the health tech, space, venture capital, and education sectors.

The NACDS Total Store Expo will be held from August 23 to 25 at the San Diego Convention Center, bringing together health and wellness retailers and suppliers to collaborate, exchange ideas, and drive business growth.
