Hunter Awarded Outstanding Faculty Liaison of the Year Award by NCPA Foundation

Melissa Hunter  was honored as the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Faculty Liaison of the Year Award by the NCPA Foundation during NCPA 2018 Annual Convention in Boston.

BOSTON — Melissa Hunter  was honored as the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Faculty Liaison of the Year Award by the NCPA Foundation during NCPA 2018 Annual Convention in Boston. The Outstanding Faculty Liaison of the Year Award recognizes a faculty liaison who demonstrates exceptional leadership and commitment to independent community pharmacy, the NCPA student chapter, and the community.

Hunter has served as the drug information director at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy since Oct. 2005. In this role, she answers medication-related questions from citizens and UW alumni, precepts student pharmacists on rotation, and teaches in the pharmacy curriculum. Hunter has co-authored eight peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters, and she has given multiple presentations at the local, state, and national level.

In addition, she serves as a drug information editor for PharmacotherapyFirst, a multimedia learning experience. Hunter teaches drug literature evaluation and two elective courses. She became faculty liaison for the University of Wyoming student chapter of NCPA in 2012 and has provided faculty support for NCPA student activities since 2007.
